We've now added ETFs to the universe of open-end funds in our dataset.
You can look-up the cost of ownership for an ETF, as you would for an open-end fund, by entering the ETF's ticker symbol.
The list of lower-cost comparable funds will now also include ETFs where applicable. At the same time, we've revised the algorithm to show funds with the following criteria:
* has expense and turnover information for the past 1 year
* either a no-load open-end fund that is available to the general public (e.g. not an institutional fund) with a sufficiently low minimum investment OR an ETF
* the expense ratio is not more than 0.2% less than the Gross Prospectus Expense Ratio (i.e. excludes funds with a currently deeply discounted expense ratio which may substantially increase)
We've also changed the display slightly to be more readable and to show both the full name of the comparable funds and their ticker symbols.
